This is exactly why advertisements are displayed in between shows and movies. As his conscious mind tries to figure out the rest of the story you can go on giving him your hypnotic commands then later tell him the end of the story. To use the Zeigarnik effect to hypnotize someone you just need to tell him an exciting but incomplete story. For example after you refuel your car you never think about fuel again for a while.

When you use the word "Imagine" you actually ask the conscious mind of a person to step aside and so the subconscious mind starts imagining what you say directly. that's why you feel scared in horror movies even though there is no real danger. 2) Hypnotic keywords: Whenever the subconscious mind imagines something it gets programmed by it.He will spend at least 5 seconds trying to figure out what's going on and during those seconds you should give him your hypnotic command (see also How to hypnotize someone easily)
Here is a simple example: Instead of shaking hands normally let your palms face the ground and put your hands near your target's chest. once this happens you will have about 5 seconds to program that person with your hypnotic commands. Now the pattern interrupt technique is all about interrupting a very popular pattern so that you confuse the conscious mind of your target. These expectations reduce the amount of processing your conscious mind has to do everyday.
